Andreas is an Associate Professor at the Division of Geology and Geotechnics, research group Engineering Geology. His research is focused on risk assessment and decision analysis of geo and water engineering problems, with specific focus on drinking water supplies. The aim of the research is to develop methods and tools that enable efficient management of risks in society. The results should, for example, facilitate the work of achieving safe drinking water supplies, both nationally and internationally. Andreas is also working in other fields where the ability to model risks and generate decision support is a key issue. He is, for example, involved in developing a model for risk assessment of shipwrecks and areas with dumped warfare agents. Andreas teaches risk assessment and decision analysis linked to field of civil engineering.
