| My research activities are focused on plant ecology of the arctic tundra, particularly in relation to Global Change issues (climate change and increased atmospheric nitrogen deposition). At our field station Latnjajaure in northern Lapland we study the impacts of observed and simulated Global Change on plant growth, reproduction, and biodiversity. The research has so far been conducted within the International Tundra Experiment (ITEX), but is now also extended into an EU project, Dynamics of the arctic and alpine tree-line (DART). A study at landscape level has just been initiated thanks to support from the NFR for 1999-2001: Tundra Landscape Dynamics (TLD). |
