Jens Nordmark is a PhD student in Bo Albinsson group at the division of physical chemistry. He is researching artificial photosynthesis, the study of molecules mimicing of the natural process performed by chlorophyll. Chlorophyll molecules separate electric charges within themselves when exposed to light, and the voltage that arises drives the processes that keep the plant alive. Artificial molecules with similar properties can instead be used to collect solar energy for direct human use. |
